INTERVIEW WITH GABY KÖHLER - ARTIST PAINTER

Dear friends and readers, as I informed you last time, that we will have an interview with an talented artist painter Gaby Köhler!
Wish you a great March!

Ten questions for you Mrs Köhler!

1. Who is Gaby? Describe yourself in one sentence!I am Gaby Kohler, mother of three kids, live and work in my atelier in Löhne, Germany.

2. You are a talented artist painter. How you started your carrier?I had my first contact with art in Munich in the beginning of 70’s. I had my first exhibition in 1972 in Munich. Then I had two exhibitions in Dusseldorf in 1974 and 1976. After that, I wanted to be dedicated to my family, that’s why I had a long pause from my art.It was the advice that sculptor Herman Rosa gave me, that something should come out of my talent, which motivated and inspired me not to give up.I got back to arts in 2000. It was a very intensive period; I attended schools, courses, and seminars from famous artists.  After, I had a number of exhibitions in Bad Oeynhausen, Löhne, Porta Westfalica, Bielefeld, Bückeburg, Donaueschingen, Gäufelden, Bremen und Osnabrück.During this period of time I experimented with all techniques and visual art streams, such as oil on Canvas, Pastel, Acrylic etc.However, it was painting with aquarelle, where I found myself.

3. Your idea to present the old fashion and old style woman, is just perfect and become as a new "must".  Would you like to share with me and the readers of my blog, how you become to such idea?The love for women helped evolve my personal style. The idea to represent the woman as independent, strong and dynamic in every moment of her daily life seemed like the final destination of my discovery journey towards finding my own style. Women are the inspiration of my paintings.  I observe them and paint them. The female dancing in shopping malls, in front of colorful shops, in the market, in the city. Women immersed in their mobile phones. Accessories like hats, feathers, purses, earrings, necklaces make every character of my paintings unique and alive.   One notices above all the hats that describe the art of being independent, just like in the 1920’s, ”the golden years or the golden époque”.

4. Where do you find these resources about all these characters you show on your paintings?I am inspired from the routine of that period, photos or newspapers. Wherever I am I pay attention to every detail that attracts me.  If I encounter something I like, I first make a sketch or take a picture. Then I use it as a material in my atelier.

5. You are painting only one gender?The female figure is the primary focus of my works, although here and there you could find a male in them. People ask me in social media when will I paint a male figure. I can’t answer that question. I only say that in a given moment I would be able to do so.

6. Your plans for the nearest future! Do you want to share some of your plans?I am convinced that what makes me happy is for my art to have a continuity, to be passed on. For this reason I have started giving courses in my atelier, and share with the younger generations my art. I love exploring beauty intensively.You will find more infos at my homepage: www.gabyköhler.de

7. I would love to know your feelings, how you feel when you sell one of your pieces!I have sold most of my paintings, although I am aware that most of the people can’t afford my art for a variety of reasons. What makes me happy is when my work is liked.

8. How you spent your free time, except painting?I spend my free time with my family and friends.My aim is stay fit and healthy so I can be creative as long as possible. Everyday I do yoga, Nordic Walking or go for walks in fresh air.

9. Your aim?Some of the projects I will be involved with this year are the Calendar for 2017,  t-shirts with female figures, my courses and workshops in which you can take part in the links that follow.

10. I would love to know your Slogan, that impressed you?My most favorite saying is from a graphic designer and painter from Berlin, Max Liebermann (1817-1935):
“There is only one kind of art, be it young or old, the true art that never dies but lives on”.

Thank you Mrs. Köhler!

Hamleti vjen ne skenen e Teatrit Kombetar, enkas per JU miq!
"Teatri Kombëtar i Selanikut"
Teatri i "Neos Kosmos"
Teatri "Polis"
"Instituti Francez" në Athinë
Instituti "Mihalis Kakojannis" … etj

SWEDEN POETS

IMPRESSED!
Learn about two young poets!
Louise and Henke except a couple, they are two Sweden poets, which took place to an international event here to Boräs, organized and supported from some Albanian organizations here in Sweden and the government of Sweden!
They both, gave a special nuance, with their great performance, their work, their presentation!
An Albanian Poet, translated shortly just for me, whispered on my ear, I felt these words, like a bit of my heart!
Wish successes, both of you!
Impressed!

ORIT SHIMONI - SONGWRITER/SINGER

This photo is with Peter Van Velthoven, performing at the Crossroads Cafe in Antwerp, with Ingrid Veerman and Two Dollar Twodollar Bash, few years ago

I heard her voice some days ago! I saw her on stage, i enjoyed her performance, I loved her as she present herself to her audience!
Yes, she is a great! Only two words, are enough to describe Orit Shimoni!
I decide to have an interview!
So read and learn more about Orit, a talented musician, songwriter, singer, a dynamic women!

Orit, you are composer/writer, musician and teacher! How you manage your time and arrive to be satisfated reaching your aims?
   I was a school-teacher foreight years, with music always a side-project.  Eventually, after I had two albums, I decided that I want to focus all of my energy on music.  It was hard to leave teaching behind, but I have discovered that I get much joy from performance, and can share the same educational values through music.        I have also written a few children's stories and give story-telling workshops for children sometimes, so I still get to have that wonderful interaction with children, between my shows for adults.  There is, thankfully, enough time for songwriting, but writing bigger projects has been very challenging, as I am always on the road.  I still haven't figured out the perfect formula, but I keep working on everything as hard as I can.

How you will describe shortly yourself?
   I describe: myself changes with my mood, but the consistent character traits I have are that I am emotional, very sensitive, I care very much about social justice and equality.
I am hard-working but a bit disorganized.  I am a very serious person, but I still maintain a sense of humour, sometimes sarcasm.  I try to learn from every situation, about me, myself, others, and the world. I am intensely philosophical and this can be quite exhausting, but it's worth it.

You are a canadiens citizens! Your origin coming from?
Did your culture affected your carrier?
   I am both Canadian and Israeli.  Being Israeli is a challenge because it is a country that everyone has an opinion about.  I often feel very misunderstood, which is very difficult.  Growing up in Jerusalem, in the context of chronic wars has definitely shaped my identity. The tragedy of wars everywhere affects me emotionally and spiritually. I believe so much in peaceful dialogue and diplomacy. I am a bit traumatized from the violence I have experienced in Israel, and also the history of the place and both peoples is so intense and complicated, that I cannot shut off my political self. Where other people can sometimes be more easy-going, being from Jerusalem means I am always worried about what is happening in that part of the world.  My wish since I was a young girl of five years old has been for peaceful resolution, so both sides can live a normal life.  It is hard to be optimistic. My Canadian side celebrates cultural diversity and wishes this kind of tolerance for the rest of the world.

How you describe your first steps, you stared to follow your dream?
Here I want to be focused on your hardly time as I heard from you, that you explained during the concert at Art Stalker Gallery.
   My steps toward becoming a full-time musician were gradual.  I always sang, and began to play the guitar when I was 12 years old, already writing my first songs when I was 15.  It was a fantasy that I would grow up to be a 'real' singer and I tried to proceed with a normal life. I did not dare imagine that I would be a real musician, even though I was actually already performing in cafes and bars from the time I was 16.   But when I moved to Montreal, Canada, I started to go to music bars, and when I sang my first few songs, I got a lot of requests from other musicians who wanted to play along with me, and within a few shows, a man approached me, wanting to produce my first album.  It was a very exciting time, and made me feel more 'real'. When the album came out and got praise and radio play, it felt less like a fantasy and more like reality, and this really encouraged me to continue.  I took small steps forward until I was ready to go full-time, and that was the scariest step.  I never imagined I would live the life I am living now, touring internationally as an independent artist, producing five albums with more on the way. It is an honour to live this way and be well-received wherever I go. It is a very tough life but also very rewarding and I hope I can continue for a long time.

You love Berlin! How grow up these feelings? You can describe for further some points signed your life here in Berlin.
   When I did finally quit my teaching job, I came from Canada to Berlin.  It was a very difficult time, because I was scared that I would not make enough money to survive. But it was also very strange to be in the country that my grandparents had to run from to save their lives.  It was important for me to be there and make connections with people of my generation, a proof that peace was possible. It took me a while to get used to it, and in that year I wrote my Berlin album, "Sadder Music  - Live in Berlin" (http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/littlebirdie3)  to describe some of what I was going through.
Berlin is an incredible city, with so much art, and fantastic, creative people.             I have developed wonderful friendships and I will always want to return.

You talked about many thing during your concert at Art Stalker Gallery! Was so interesting when you talk about your tour, you made in Europe, the people they helped you, the site where you find those people! I would like to give for all artists, young people, impress them and give power to follow your steps!
   The way I tour is not the way most people picture it, no hotels and airplanes.  I don't make very much money as a musician (times are getting tougher in the music business), and so the only way to survive is to make the costs as low as possible.  Luckily for me I meet people who are happy to have me as a guest in their home. It is so much better than a hotel room because I can have conversations with the local people, get to know them and the place, and have human connections, instead of being alone in a hotel room.

Wich song/songs are your prefer songs and why?
   It is impossible to say which songs I prefer.  I am emotionally connected to all of my songs. I write from the heart, and so they all mean something important to me.  When I perform, I try to give as much variety as possible so that, in terms of the sound, it is not too repetitive. So I go from a slow, folk song to a more jazzy-bluesy one.. the styles vary, but actually the most important thing for me is the text, the words, the message, and it just happens to be that I love singing.
That way, even if the audience doesn't understand the words, they can still be moved by the emotion of the sound.

Your aims and your plans for the nearest future?
   My aims and goals are to continue to do this for as long as possible. So long as the songs come to me, I would like to continue to record and perform them. I hope I continue to be so lucky to meet wonderful musicians who want to work with me, and wonderful friends where I can stay while I'm passing through the different cities I play in. I am trying to be as healthy as possible so that I have the energy to continue! I am also working on a book about my life on the road, that I would like to finish and share with my fans.  But the truth is, you never know what is around the corner, so I try to be patient and I am curious what the future will bring.

I would love to know your Slogan, that impressed you?
   There a few "slogans" I hold dear.  One is to always to try to act from love and not from fear.   The other is to  pay attention and learn from everything and everyone.  My latest, which I came up with when I was feeling down, very tired and not in the mood to do the hard work of organizing the shows and promoting them was this: "Stop complaining. You are very lucky to have this task, and well-equipped for it."  Having gratitude for what you have is very important!

Orit I thank you, from the bottom of my heart and wish you successes!

INTERVIEW - KATERINA ZOTO

Hi, there friends!
Today I'm going to start a new rubric, interviewed different young people they are successful young girls and boys, in different professions.
I think not to use the classic version - asking - answering, I would prefer to describe shortly their thoughts, work, aims, results, dreams, projects, future, etc.
Let´s start!

Katerina or "the Female Version of Armani"
Who she is? What she do? Her aims? What she reached till now? Her future?
All of these questions, will be answered to this shortly column, dedicated to Katerina Zoto!
Katerina is a textile engineer and fashion lover. Her frinds used to call her the Female Version of Armani because of her style, and this became the reason for her to study Textile Engineering and Fashion. Her style is so unique and you can see male and female combined as a artwork on her clothes. Although she adores feminility and fragility, she does not like heels and she says: "The weight of success is to weavy to be kept on them". She has participated several fashion shows as a stylist as well as a model and she has always reached to the top list. She considers life to be a theatre where everyone has the opportunity to express themselves but few of them can reach to the heart of spectator., before the curtain is closed. By the way she loves costumography more than fashion shows because difficult things are her challenges. She claims to be a professor at University. However she says that all her dreams are getting realised although she is too young, and it’s the turn for other people to feel realised as she does.
I wish her successes!

Soon we are going to cooperate for a new project here in Berlin, so friends keep in touch for further!
For all wish e beauty day!

WHY BLOG COMMENTS ARE NOT DEAD

Hello there!
For today I am posting for you friends and readers, a post from another blog. My friend Lisa, has another view about blogs and funs nowadays!
I agree with her, 100%.
The difference between our blogs is the number of visitors :)
On my blog till now the number arrived 2350 visitors!
Wish a very beautiful day!
Blogging has changed dramatically since its first years, just like anything else changes these days, but quite differently than anyone had anticipated. While many bloggers and people working with them are still creating content the same way, there are quite a few who have started thinking about paths to get ahead of the changes in the blogsphere. I absolutely admire that. To be on top of current technologies and to brainstorm according tomorrow's possibilities is strongly professional.

Amongst the ones adapting to changes and trying to establish future wise strategies, there are bloggers who accept that comments in blog posts have decreased dramatically and are often useless to indicate a post's success. It is because of the spread and effect of social media and because of the new content creating possibilities. Likes, shares, thumbs ups, tweets and hashtags seems to be taking over them in no time.

I have to agree to some degree...

Well, no more than five people have commented on my most popular post of all times (according to Blogger stats).
-Does that mean the rest 3549 readers found the post useless?
I doubt that, as I have tried to answer questions I had myself before starting shopping at Asos. So at least most of them had a few questions answered.
-Did they make it to the end of the post?
Perhaps yes, perhaps not, it's 30 points after all.
-Did they find it poorly written?
Who knows, English is not my native language and I don't have an editor, so mistakes happen often.
-Did they click my blog to look for more information?
They could have, but I have not been posting regularly, so it's my fault for not engaging them further.
-So, why would they not comment?
Frankly, why would they comment? If they came from Pinterest looking for answers, they found them and went away doing their own thing.

This is something you should expect if you are willing to share free information on internet, so that's why you should love doing it and not feel pissed off when not given back much in return. Even those five comments are enough for me, because two of them thank me for sharing the information, two have questions to ask me and one is a spam promoter.

Now that is a simple example to show you that not a single comment should be taken for grated. If you post about things that catch your eye daily, like a piece of furniture or a newspaper article, most people would have a look and go on. A few might briefly comment phrases such as "Great!", "Cool!", "Wow!", "Awesome!" or some more cool stuff. Only a handful would ask questions or share a personal insight.

But when you blog about issues that are meaningful to most of us, you have more chances to engage with people, make them share their stories and interact with each other. I know many bloggers that are great at this.

Joanna pops a bizarre question, like "What kind of underwear are you wearing?" and boom! 231 comments. Which is not at all random for her, because her writing is genius. She also asked "Where do you live" and got 773 answers. Not bad huh?

Bri would share a difficult moment of her life and you find 155 girls opening up their own hearts and showing compassion in the comments session.

Mara is a great writer, whose kindness and viewpoint for live, love, marriage have made so many people thank her from their heart in the comments section and share their stories like they were chatting with family.

There are so many more people who are sharing helpful stuff and creating amazing content. And they deserve all the comments they are getting and more. But it didn't happen overnight and they have worked hard to craft their brand.

So what about small blogs or special niches? Don't get discouraged. The world does not owe you comments or anything else for that matter. But try to make an impact and touch people in such a way that they would type faster than they can think just to share something with you.

Make people choose you because the way you make them feel. Make them worry when you're not around. They will comment asking if you're alright. And they will chat and argue with each other, some will insult too but some would pray for you. Is there a better feeling?

Comments are not dead!

Think of a blog as a plastic yellow in a bathtub. Cute, right? Now imagine that yellow duck in an ocean. You'd not even distinguish it in that infinite space. Blogs are becoming infinite and blog posts are created daily, hourly, every minute that passes by. Be the space to deserve comments and treat each of them as special, because no one owes you their time and kindness.

Also, be the change you want to see! If you don't like comments going away, keep making them. Respond to people leaving you a comment. I love writing a paragraph (or more) when I have something to say. Make genuine connections and say nice things you truly believe. Stand up if something seems wrong, but don't harass anything you don't like.

Because of comments people laugh, cry, feel less alone, make friends, keep in touch, fall in love, get inspired, find out new things, and maybe read someone's first or last comment ever.

How do you feel about comments? Are they going away soon? Should we keep them tight or let them go to welcome something else instead?

Ποια παιδική σας ανάμνηση παραμένει ανεξίτηλη;

Και ως ενήλικη; Τι είναι αυτό που συχνά πυκνά ανασύρετε στη μνήμη σας και αποτελεί πάντα ένα καλό εφαλτήριο για το μέλλον;

Εκλάμψεις, αναλαμπές; Συνήθως με ποιον τις μοιράζεστε;

Ο άνθρωπος, ανέκαθεν, ως οντότητα ζει ανάμεσα σε πειρασμούς. Ασπίδες έχουμε;

Τι σας προσγειώνει απότομα;

Σε ποια εποχή συναντάμε την αληθινή Juliana, όπου συμμετέχουν σε αυτό που ζει όλα τα μέρη του σώματος (σώμα, μυαλό, ψυχή);

Ποια είναι η ραχοκοκαλιά της ζωής;

Από τα είδη του λόγου, ποιο σας συγκινεί/συναρπάζει  περισσότερο;

Υπάρχει λογοτεχνικός ήρωας του οποίου το γραφτό της μοίρας θα αλλάζατε;

Η γραφή απαιτεί πειθαρχία ή λειτουργεί αυτόματα;

Επιλέγετε ένα καλοξυσμένο μολύβι ή μια καινούργια γραμματοσειρά ενός πολυμέσου, για να ζυμώσετε το χρόνο, τον τόπο, τους ήρωες ως πρώτη επαφή με τη σελίδα;

Υ.Γ. Οι ταινίες κρύβουν μέσα στη συντομία τους μεγαλειώδεις πανανθρώπινες αξίες. Υπάρχει κάποια την οποία, από πλευράς σεναρίου, μας παροτρύνετε να δούμε;
